About this material
Engineered marble is natural marble crushed fine and bound with resin. The stone is real; what is manufactured is the consistency.
That consistency is the whole reason to choose it. Natural marble varies slab to slab, so a large job can end up with two counters that do not match. These do.
It is non porous and never needs sealing, and it comes polished. For a bathroom, a powder room or a vanity run it is a straightforward answer.
It is not a kitchen material. The resin that holds it together does not like heat, so it stays out of the way of a stove, and it stays indoors and out of the sun.
Omega also orders this line as finished vanity tops with the bowl already moulded in, in fixed sizes. Those are a different product from a slab, and they are labelled as such throughout the catalogue.
