About this material
Travertine and onyx are two different stones we group together because both are chosen for character rather than toughness. Travertine gives you a warm, pitted texture. Onyx is translucent, so light passes straight through it.
Travertine brings an earthy, old-world feel that works beautifully on fireplace surrounds, accent walls, and outdoor patios.
Onyx is a special order. Our regular supplier does not carry it, so we bring it in from a slab yard when you ask for it, and we reserve it for feature pieces like back lit bar tops and accent walls rather than everyday counters.
